Ladies unite to support the Ulster Orchestra

Rosemary Kelly (Chair Arts Council NI), Cllr Diana Peacocke, Ruth Bebb (Ulster Orchestra), John McNeil (MD Consarc Design) and Lady Mayoress Greta Rodgers at the Ulster Orchestra’s fundraising Ladies’ Lunch sponsored by Consarc Design in the Merchant Hotel on Tuesday 22 April.

The Merchant Hotel was the location for the Ulster Orchestra Ladies’ Lunch sponsored by Consarc Design on Tuesday 22 April.  Following recent years’ successes, the fundraising lunch has become an annual event run by the Friends of the Ulster Orchestra.

This year the lunch was hosted by Rosemary Kelly, Chair of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, with special guests including the Lady Mayoress, Mrs Greta Rodgers, and Cllr Diana Peacocke.

While enjoying a sumptuous lunch in the stunning Great Room Restaurant in the 5-star Merchant Hotel, the ladies were serenaded by the Orion Duo, made up of Ulster Orchestra musicians Ruth Bebb (viola) and Chris Blake (piano).

The Orchestra thanks Consarc Design for sponsoring the lunch for a fourth year.

Throughout the course of the afternoon a ballot with a treasure-trove of exciting prizes was up for grabs. The prizes were courtesy of Shu, Marks and Spencer, Ginger Bistro, Alex Mekki, Hilton Belfast, Clarins, The Merchant Hotel, Framar Health, Bryn Terfel, Hilary Gault and the Ulster Orchestra.

The Ulster Orchestra would also like to thank DKNI the Florist, Molton Brown for supplying table gifts and The Merchant Hotel for lending their support to the event.

All proceeds from the event go towards keeping the Ulster Orchestra at the heart of Northern Ireland’s arts infrastructure by funding its concert performances and extensive outreach and education programme.
