Masterclasses

Masterclasses

The Ulster Orchestra's Masterclasses are generously supported by the Fenton Arts Trust.

Our Masterclasses are very special opportunities to meet and learn from some wonderful musicians. Come along and listen as leading performers offer tuition and practical guidance to young aspiring artists in the Elmwood Hall at Queen's.

Young music students, perhaps looking ahead to a career in performance themselves, need opportunities to perform in public and learn to cope with the added pressures. These Masterclasses provide just that platform and also enables them to supplement their normal studies by benefitting from the interpretative insights of great soloists.

The Masterclasses allow the audience to spot future potential and benefit from differing styles and techniques of teaching.

Over several years now these Masterclasses have established a remarkable reputation for the calibre of visiting artists. These include: John O'Conor, Richard Stoltzman, Franzita Whelan, Ronald Brautigam, Fabio Zanon, Pekka Kuusisto, Alexander Baillie, John Lill, Tasmin Little, David Strange and Gordon Hunt.

Admission costs £5 (free to students)
